Protection From
Spyware
// What is Spyware?
Spyware is a malicious program designed to infect your computer and exploit that infection for commercial gain.
// Why are Spyware infections a significant threat?
Spyware provides two-way access to your system. In the one manner, it allows the operator to monitor your computer's activity, such as your online browsing habits. Then, this information is used to perform unsolicited activities through your computer, over which you have no control.
// How is Spyware spread?
Spyware is spread when the system user actively downloads the program, usually after being deceived. For example, you may download the Spyware as part of another program, like a game, or you may download it from a file enclosed in spam. There are two main strategies at work here. The first is called piggybacking, which is a strategy whereby the Spyware is downloaded with a desired program. The second is akin to a Trojan Horse. This strategy masquerades the Spyware as a desirable program, even as a security software!
// Where does Spyware reside?
After entering your system a computer Spyware will reside in your computer’s operating system as an active program.
